Tips on Writing a Wedding Invitation

In creating your wedding invites, you should never settle for something plain or generic. The cards you will be sending out should carry your own voice. It should convey how important that special date will be to all your intended guests. Here are some tips on how to go about making your own.

Determine who will be announcing the wedding – the couple’s parents or the bride and groom. Once this is settled, decide on whether you would like a formal or informal tone for your invitation. Note that you typically use the term “the honour of your presence” if the ceremony will be held in a place of worship. Otherwise, you can simply say “please join us” or “the pleasure of your company.”

If you intend to create a traditional invite, list the bride’s name after her parents’. Then, write down the full name of the groom. You may or may not choose to name the groom’s parents. When this is done, proceed to writing the date of the ceremony. Do not forget to include the time it will take place as well as the location and the full address of the wedding venue.
