Bringing the Bridesmaid’s Dress

A wedding is a fine excuse to spend some time off school or work and travel. Weddings are often the rare chances when families and friends can get together once again. Take the time to pack up, especially if you bring with you formal clothes such as a bridesmaid dress, which should be wrinkle-free and in tip-top condition for the event.Pack your bridesmaid dress the right way by rolling it up and packing it the way you would a sleeping bag. When you arrive at your destination, unroll the dress and hang it up. Another is to hang the dress and slip it inside a garment bag or the bag that came with the dress.

Cotton Garment Bag

Garment bags help you transport clothes with ease and effectively prevent creases. To keep wrinkles at minimum, wrap the dress in a large cotton sheet before placing it inside the bag. Add a large industrial garbage bag on the bottom to keep the dress from dragging on a wet or dirty surface. Secure the garbage bag by pinning or taping it onto the dress bag and not onto the dress to avoid runs and holes. Ask the airline if they can provide you with a cabin or closet to hang the garment. Otherwise, bring the dress as a carry-on item and make sure it fits in the overhead compartment. When all of these fail, use a steam iron to rid of wrinkles and a soft, moist sponge to rid of dirt.
